The daughter of a true marketing genius and part of a family of designers. Jennifer grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Throughout high school she worked for her father’s company processing black and white film, proofing and set designing.

Jennifer earned her Associates Degree in Art from William Rainey Harper College in 1990. While attending Northern Illinois University Jennifer left to fill a vacancy in her father’s advertising agency, Dahm Advertising, Inc.

There she continued as a Graphic Designer then transitioned to the Creative Director position which she held for 4-years. The company later dissolved the “agency” services, renamed the company SmartArt and focused on print design.

After moving to Birmingham, Jennifer opened SmartArt South, Inc. in a spare bedroom in her home in 1996. Since then, SmartArt has held two other office locations until its move into the Stonegate Office Condominiums of Liberty Park in 2007, where she now leases the space out while working in a home office.

Jennifer is married to Chris Harris, a lifelong Vestavia Hills resident, and has two beautiful children, Marie and Turner, with whom she spends most of her free time.
